Odour Control
Shaw kitchen ventilation systems are offered with varying types of odour control system.
The carbon activated system offers lower initial capital costs but potentially higher running costs (dependant upon frequency of usage and weight of workload), whilst the electro-static precipitator and odour neutraliser system offers mirror image properties.
Activated Carbon Filter System
Activated carbon is extremely effective for removing odours from contaminated air-streams and is capable of absorbing odours up to 50% of its own weight - retaining them with its microporous structure. When activated carbon in the filter cell reaches its practical saturation point, the cell may be re-activated by either factory supplied replacements or exchange service.
Electrostatic Precipitation & Odour Neutralisation System
Electrostatic precipitation is used in the kitchen extract system to separate the smoke and grease particles that pass through the main grease filters within the canopy.
This can be used in conjunction with carbon filters to prolong the life of the carbon or with an odour neutralisation system which involves the injection of neutralisers into the air system. An ultra violet system for removal of odours is also available.
